About Us

What does the Permian Basin Reability Center do?

The Permian Basin Reability Center has proudly served West Texas for more than 70 years, restoring ability and redefining what’s possible for thousands of children and adults.

We make life better for our patients, their families, and our community by delivering high-quality, compassionate therapy that inspires hope and lasting independence across the Permian Basin.

Rooted in our belief that motivated, confident patients achieve their greatest potential, we take an integrated approach to care. Our expert team provides evidence-based interventions, personalized assessments, and one-on-one therapy designed to help every individual rebuild strength, renew confidence, and reimagine ability.

Imagine that one day you, a loved one or friend could not walk, talk, learn or work. If the basic skills that most of us take for granted were limited, or even gone,  where would you or your family turn for help?

Since 1953, the Permian Basin Reability Center (PBRC) has been that place of hope and healing. For more than 70 years, PBRC has redefined what’s possible for thousands of children and adults across West Texas and New Mexico.

The Permian Basin Reability Center is the Permian Basin’s only comprehensive, non-profit, multidisciplinary rehabilitation facility that provides speech, physical, occupational therapy and hearing/audiology services.

The collaborative, bilingual team of PBRC reach a broad cross-section of the community and bring positive change into the lives of countless individuals, using evidence-based care designed to restore ability, rebuild confidence and renew independence.

As with any medical treatment, therapy can be costly. As a non-profit organization, PBRC offers a Sponsorship Program and social worker services to help ensure that no one is turned away based on ability to pay or limited access to transportation.

The Sponsorship Program is made possible through community donations and fundraising efforts throughout the year. Because PBRC is a West Texas institution, all funds raised remain in Odessa for direct services to our families, friends, and neighbors. PBRC is a preferred provider for most insurance companies including Medicare and Medicaid.

In a world where accidents occur and people sometimes face the challenges of diseases, disabilities or injuries, the Permian Basin Reability Center leads the way to a better tomorrow for both children and adults. Proven, effective therapeutic practices combine with an experienced, caring staff create an environment in which excellent outcomes are achieved.

The PBRC takes great pride in its ability to reach across cultural and social divides. Any family or individual may be touched by an emergency or debilitating physical condition at any time.  Through compassionate expertise and proven therapeautic care, we help our patients, and our community, restore ability, reclaim confidence and rediscover what’s possible.
